From Connection to Collaboration

When Ian Henderson, founder of The Pink Elephant - a luxury event styling brand known for its curated catering and bespoke event styling - joined the St Albans District Chamber of Commerce in early 2024, he was hoping to expand his network and connect with like-minded professionals. What he didn’t expect was that one new introduction would soon lead to a flourishing business partnership.

Through the Chamber, Ian met Emily Waddell, Head of Marketing at Taylor Walton Solicitors. Emily also serves as a Director of the Chamber and leads its Future Leaders committee. It wasn’t long before the two saw an opportunity to collaborate - and from there, things took off.

Our first connection through the Chamber in October 2024 in St Alban’s, Hertfordshire.

A Recipe for Success

Their first joint project came in the form of a Taylor Walton property networking event, hosted at Poggenpohl Kitchens in St Albans. Wanting to offer guests something more creative than the standard format, Emily turned to The Pink Elephant, who supplied individually styled graze boxes filled with seasonal, artisanal produce. The presentation and quality helped set a relaxed, elevated tone for the evening.

Feedback from guests was overwhelmingly positive - and plans for a follow-up collaboration are already in motion. But the partnership hasn’t ended there. In March, Ian sponsored the Future Leaders Wine & Cheese Night, once again showcasing The Pink Elephant’s signature grazing style and supporting the Chamber community with flair.

The Power of Chamber Membership

For both Ian and Emily, the collaboration demonstrates the practical value of Chamber membership - from business exposure to long-term, local partnerships.

“Joining the Chamber has been invaluable,” said Ian Henderson. “It’s not just about networking - it’s about building genuine relationships and being part of a community that supports local success.”

Emily Waddell echoed the sentiment:

“Working with Ian and The Pink Elephant has been a brilliant example of what can happen when local businesses connect through the Chamber. It’s a great platform for finding like-minded people who want to collaborate and support each other.”

A Community That Works Together

The partnership between Taylor Walton and The Pink Elephant is a clear example of what the Chamber does best - bringing businesses together to form meaningful, mutually beneficial relationships.

Whether you're a start-up looking to build your presence, or an established brand ready to grow your network, the St Albans District Chamber of Commerce provides a platform to connect, collaborate, and thrive.
