The background

When MrQ, an international online gaming and entertainment brand, approached The Pink Elephant to create its summer staff celebration, the brief was anything but ordinary.

Having previously hosted summer celebrations in destinations including Sicily and Ibiza, the team decided to bring the festivities closer to home for 2026. The location? Their offices in the heart of St Albans. The vision? To transform an everyday office environment into a vibrant, festival-inspired experience for approximately 130 team members.

Introducing Qoachella, a bespoke summer festival inspired by the spirit of Coachella, brought to life through exceptional food, carefully curated drinks, live music, interactive entertainment and considered event styling.

From breakfast boxes delivered in the morning to rooftop dining at lunchtime and a fully transformed car park for the evening celebrations, The Pink Elephant was entrusted with bringing the entire experience together.

This wasn't simply an event to organise. It was an opportunity to create something memorable, bring people together and demonstrate what happens when a client's vision meets a collaborative, creative and detail-driven events team. And that is precisely what we set out to achieve.

THE BRIEF

Transforming an Office car park into a Festival Destination

MrQ wanted to create something different for its summer celebration: an experience that would bring its team together, celebrate its culture and offer something genuinely memorable.

The morning: A thoughtful start to the day with The Pink Elephant's signature breakfast grazing boxes.

The afternoon: A relaxed rooftop lunch, bringing colleagues together over fresh food and a beautifully presented buffet.

The evening: The main event — a complete transformation of the office car park into a colourful, festival-inspired destination, complete with multiple food stations, bars, live performers, interactive entertainment and music.

Every element needed to feel connected, from the catering and drinks to the entertainment, infrastructure and styling. The event also needed to reflect MrQ's brand identity, with its distinctive blue incorporated throughout the design. Our role was to bring all these moving parts together under one cohesive vision. From the first planning conversation to the final details on the day, we worked closely with the Mr Q team to ensure that every part of the experience felt intentional, considered and unmistakably Qoachella.

FROM CONCEPT TO CREATION

A Collaborative Approach

From May through to early July, we worked closely with the Mr Q team through weekly planning calls, developing the concept and coordinating every detail.

Our brief encompassed catering, beverages, entertainment, event production and styling. Working alongside our trusted independent suppliers, we created a cohesive experience that reflected Mr Q's brand identity, incorporating its signature blue throughout the event.

The result was a complete transformation of an everyday office environment into a vibrant summer festival.

The day unfolds

Breakfast, Rooftop Dining & Summer Flavours

The experience began with The Pink Elephant's signature breakfast boxes, filled with freshly baked pastries, mini smoked salmon brioche buns, charcuterie, continental cheeses and fresh seasonal fruit — a thoughtful start to a day of celebrations.

At lunchtime, guests gathered on the rooftop balcony for a relaxed summer barbecue, featuring beautifully cooked steaks, chicken skewers, fresh seasonal salads, quiches and filo pastries. A generous buffet, parasol umbrellas and considered styling created the perfect setting for outdoor dining.

Welcome to Qoachella

By evening, the office car park had been transformed into a colourful festival destination. A striking blue stretch marquee, jute flooring, colourful bean bags, picnic benches, bunting and bespoke staging brought the setting to life. Floral rustic arrangements and a beautiful arrival arch, created in collaboration with Isabel from the Botanical Barn, completed the look. At the heart of the experience was our charcuterie harvest table, accompanied by champagne and rosé on arrival setting the tone for an evening of great food, drinks and entertainment festival style.

Food & drink highlights

We created a collection of food stations designed to offer variety, encourage guests to explore and capture the spirit of a summer festival.

Charcuterie harvest table: An abundant, beautifully presented welcome for arriving guests.
Latin-inspired tacos: A vibrant street-food station led by The Latin Chef Nickolas Rapson.
Fish and chips: Golden, crumbed cod, double-cooked chips and garlic aioli, served in festival-style Oscar newspaper cones.
Dolce Vita gelato: A taste of Italian summer from a much-loved St Albans independent business of eight different flavours.

Alongside the food, guests could enjoy a dedicated cocktail bar of a selection of cocktails & mocktails, a spirits bar featuring gin and vodka, and a beer station.

Music, Entertainment & Festival Energy

Entertainment brought the entire experience together.

James welcomed guests with live saxophone, while Louise and Matt performed acoustically on a dedicated stage featuring a striking Q backdrop. Beneath the marquee, our DJ built the atmosphere from relaxed house-inspired sounds into an upbeat evening of music and dancing.

The entertainment extended beyond the dancefloor, with basketball and boxing machines, face and glitter painting, a clairvoyant, a magician, a juggler, an origami station and giant Jenga.

There was something for everyone, creating an atmosphere that encouraged guests to get involved, socialise and celebrate together.

Qoachella was our biggest event of this kind to date and a true showcase of what The Pink Elephant is all about.

Bringing together catering, beverages, entertainment, event production and styling, we delivered a complete experience tailored to our client's vision — transforming an everyday office environment into a vibrant festival destination.

We are incredibly proud of what our team and independent suppliers achieved, and grateful to Mr Q for trusting us to bring their vision to life.

Ultimately, Qoachella brought us back to the three pillars at the heart of everything we do:
