Our Wine Journey
The Pink Elephant is proud to work alongside Bancroft Wines who firmly believe their commitment and respect for the environment is reflected in the wines they sell. Bancroft seek out producers, the majority of whom are small, family-owned and managed businesses, who share their passion for sustainability and organic practices to produce the best wine they can from the land they own, offering a broad range from across Europe, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand Argentina and the USA. From their portfolio, more than a quarter of their 190 producers are either certified organic or biodynamic and 90% are these small, family owned producers who live and work on their farms.
In 2021 Bancroft Wines appointed two internal teams reporting to the board: one to review their sustainability credentials, as well as measure their impact and take action to mitigate the overall impact they have on the environment; the second, a social committee to examine their social and ethical impact and how to improve their corporate social responsibility.
Bancroft Wines is connected to a broader engagement with sustainability. Commitment to sustainability guides everything that they do. Bancroft Wines’ owner and noted philanthropist Peter De Haan is a sustainability advocate, who was awarded The Rothschild Medal for his outstanding contribution to nature conservation in the UK. Peter funds environmental projects through The Peter De Haan Charitable Trust.
All our event styling packages offer our clients the option to include any of the wines included in the menu which include a range of carefully selected South African Cap Classique sparklings, rosé, white and red wines. One pager documents for all wines on offer are available upon request. Complimentary wine glass hire is included when purchasing wines alongside any of our event styling packages, please refer to our Terms & Conditions included in relation to responsible drinking.
